Recognize!

What makes a car noteworthy? Is it the reliability? Styling? Fan base? Manufacturer? Country of origin? Price? Notoriety? Tradition? Awards?

If all of these are or some of these are your reasons for buying a Honda Accord, let me remind you of another reason…recognition. The proof is in the pudding, so let me give you some pudding.

Perfect Gift

              Valentine-Day-2013-Love-Heart-Pictures1-272x125

So Valentine’s Day is fastly approaching…have you gotten your Sweetie a gift yet? No, no, no. I’m not going to suggest you get your loved one a car. I mean, if you are thinking  about that, then you have been considering a car purchase already. And it’s actually a great idea, but hey…it’s Valentine’s Day and most people want something romantic. But I can tell you, getting a brand new, or new to you, car for a gift on any special occasion is the most fabulous thing ever! And very romantic…think about it…

Tradition(s) or Superstition(s)

The battle of light and darkness. The war between good and evil. Two Super Bowl titans come together in an epic combat to fight for the right to be called Champion.

Doesn’t that sound great? Are you ready for some excitement? No! No! No! I’ve got it…ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL? I am. No matter if you celebrate in the traditional manner of stripping off your shirt and painting your belly with your favorite team’s colors…to the superstition of making sure you have plenty of hot wings, meatballs, pizza, chips, and beer–yeah, I said, “BEER” for your family and friends as you gather to watch the big game…the Super Bowl is always a great time to celebrate, eat, have fun with family and friends, eat, cheer, eat, act silly…Did I mention eat?

Tradition is defined as, “…transmission of customs or beliefs from generation to generation…a long established custom passed down…” Superstition is the “…unjustified belief in supernatural causation leading to certain actions/outcomes…” i.e. your favorite team winning the Super Bowl because you lick your nose while shaking your groove thang!

Like the longstanding tradition of the Super Bowl, Hondas have a long-standing tradition in dependability and reliability, so you don’t  have to worry over superstitions.

Who do you want to win Super Bowl XLVII? I’ll cross my fingers for ya!

Honda Loves Racing

To bring attention to a deep rooted affiliation with ‘fast’ and competitive, Honda’s marketing agency has developed a campaign to promote their involvement with IZOD IndyCar®.  The campaign also helps promote the INDY 500.

The “Fastest Seat in Sports” sweepstakes gives race enthusiasts the opportunity to win a ride in the IZOD IndyCar® two-seater driven by Andretti at one of 12 races for the 2012 IndyCar® season.  For the first time, this year’s sweepstakes prizes include rides in the Indy 500 and two international races in Brazil and China.

A 60-second version will first air during the Indy 500, and a 30-second version began airing April 1 to promote the sweepstakes.

Here’s a behind-the-scenes video showing the making of “Imagine”.

Back from the future, it’s a concept, and it’s Honda’s NSX

When Acura pulled the satiny sheet off of the NSX concept at the Detroit auto show there was applause. And we don’t mean the meek clapping.  This was actual, apparently sincere applause for a car. Honda’s U.S. chief, Takanobu Ito, who served on the engineering team for the first NSX, appeared to inflate as he breathed in the goodwill.

“In this new era, even as we focus on the fun to drive spirit of the NSX, I think a supercar must respond positively to environmental responsibilities,” said Honda president Takanobu Itoh.

The legendary NSX supercar will be reborn in 2015.

Honda Accord & Honda Fit “10 Best Cars” Award

Car and Driver magazine has named the 2012 Honda Accord 4-cylinder and the 2012 Honda Fit as two winners of its prestigious and highly competitive, annual “10 Best Cars” award.

What’s extra special about this honor is it’s the Accord ‘s 26th and the Fit’s 6th consecutive year in winning!

““The Car and Driver ‘10 Best Cars’ awards document a proud history of great cars in America over the last 30 years,” said John Mendel, executive vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “Honda is honored to again have two of our vehicles included among the best of the best.”

Here at AutoPark Honda we have both models on the lot and they’re ready to be taken out for a test drive. So if you’re interested in taking one or both of these vehicles out, stop by the dealership, we’d be happy to help!

They call him ‘Million Mile Joe’

You want to talk quality long-lasting vehicles?

Nothing speaks to quality long-lasting vehicles more than the story of Joe and his 1990 Honda Accord.  Joe drives an average of 62,500 miles a year… that’s not a typo, it’s not a misquote, it’s the truth. For the last 14 years he’s been a claims adjuster in Maine, and he’s crossed Maine many, many, many times.

Want to know the secret to getting more miles out of your vehicle?  Here’s how Joe did it:

  1. read and follow the owner’s manual and maintenance schedule to the letter
  2. check fluids often (Joe did it weekly) switch fluids seasonally (10w-30 in summer & 5w-30 in winter), he also changed them every 5,000 miles… he never let it get below a quart and used the same brand each time
  3. never let the fuel get into the E zone
  4. used only Honda air, oil and fuel filters
  5. never rode hard on the brakes and changed their fluid every few years
  6. he also replaced the fuel pump, both cooling fans and the radiator twice
  7. last but not least… Joe gave his Accord a lot of TLC

Joe used to work as an automotive technician for 18 years, which helped him to reach such a milestone, but let’s not forget that Honda has a reputation of building durable, reliable vehicles.

Joe has taken more than 661 photos of his odometer… “A Million Miles in 45 Seconds”

Yesterday, Honda hosted a surprise parade in Saco, Maine, to celebrate Joe’s amazing accomplishment. The parade interrupted a brief press conference where Joe was scheduled to receive an oversized key to a new 2012 Honda Accord from Ms. Maine, Ashley Marble.

Way to go Joe!

Stop by AutoPark Honda to get your very own Honda or bring your car into our service center… let’s see if we can get your vehicle to the million mile mark also!
